Nagpur: CM Medical Fund Assists 761 Critical Patients in 4 Months with ₹6.67 Crore Aid

Nagpur: The Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance / CM Medical Fund Cell has provided financial aid totalling ₹6.67 crore for the treatment of 761 patients suffering from severe ailments, including neurological, cardiac, cancer, liver, and kidney conditions, as well as for newborns with congenital issues and accident victims.

This aid was extended between 1 January and 30 April 2025, marking a significant impact on critical healthcare access across the Nagpur division.

Of the patients who received assistance, 95% belonged to the Nagpur region, and 99% were battling serious brain-related illnesses, reflecting the cell’s pivotal role in treating complex neurological disorders.

The initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, provided:

  • ₹1.85 crore to 206 patients with neurological disorders
  • ₹1.51 crore to 364 cardiac patients
  • ₹1.07 crore to 140 cancer patients

Support Extended to Newborns
Notably, the CM Medical Assistance Cell also provided critical support to 56 newborns diagnosed with congenital heart diseases. These infants received treatment assistance amounting to ₹28.19 lakh, reinforcing the cell’s commitment to life-saving interventions at the earliest stages of life.

CM Medical Fund District-Level Expansion Begins

A formal inauguration of the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Cell for the Nagpur division was held at Hyderabad House, Nagpur. For now, the cell will cater to residents of 11 districts in the Vidarbha region, with the statewide rollout planned in phases to cover all 36 districts of Maharashtra.

Present at the event were District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Dean of Mayo Hospital Dr Ravi Chavan, CM Fund Cell Nagpur Division Head Dr Sagar Pandey, Special Executive Officer Asha Pathan, Sunil Mishra, and John Anabhore.
