Nashik: Union Minister of State for Health, Prataprao Jadhav, has directed that all ongoing works related to hospitals and laboratories under health missions be thoroughly inspected — including assessments of their construction quality, budget estimates, and project progress.
The directive aims to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality healthcare services, especially in rural areas.
Speaking at a review meeting of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) held on Friday, May 2, at the Government Rest House in Nashik, Minister Jadhav emphasised that primary health centres (PHCs) must be built to high standards of quality and durability.
Laboratories established under the 15th Finance Commission for conducting health-related tests must be brought into full operation without delay.
The minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer Devendra Pawar from NRHM Mumbai, Deputy Engineer Bhushan Desale from Nashik, and Deputy Engineer Abhishek Javkar from Buldhana.
Addressing the gathering, Jadhav stated that the National Rural Health Mission is a key initiative designed to provide effective, accessible, and quality healthcare services to rural communities.
He stressed the need for prompt and effective implementation of health-related infrastructure projects and asked officials to ensure that common citizens benefit from upgraded medical facilities under health missions.
Health Missions
Minister Jadhav reviewed the progress of completed, proposed, and pending works under several schemes, including:
- National Health Missions (NHM)
- PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission
- Ayush Scheme
- Projects funded by the 15th Finance Commission
He instructed that a year-wise list of approved works under the Programme Implementation Plan (PIP) of the National Rural Health Mission be compiled based on priority to aid monitoring and execution.
The inspection will include a comprehensive review of budget allocations, construction standards, and the operational readiness of healthcare infrastructure — with a goal of ensuring full utility and benefit to the public.
