New Delhi: In a landmark initiative to position Delhi as a global epicentre of Ayurvedic innovation, the Delhi State Government has announced the launch of a dedicated ₹100 crore fund for Ayurveda start-ups and plans to host the inaugural Global Ayurveda Summit.
This initiative is part of a broader ₹275 crore allocation for traditional and alternative medicinal systems under the Delhi Budget 2025–26.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made the announcement during her address at the All India Ayurvedic Congress, highlighting the growing global demand for Ayurveda and India’s responsibility to lead the world in holistic healthcare.
She credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating the Ayush Ministry, which has placed Indian traditional medicine on both national and international platforms.

“The All India Institute of Ayurveda in Delhi has set the benchmark. Now, with the Global Ayurveda Summit, we aim to showcase our leadership and integrate traditional wisdom with modern innovations,” said CM Gupta.
The Global Ayurveda Summit in Delhi is set to bring together international experts, researchers, healthcare entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
The summit will explore areas such as AI integration, digital access to ancient Ayurvedic texts, start-up collaboration, and global market expansion for Ayurvedic products.
Currently, Delhi is home to 197 Ayush centres, including 55 Ayurveda dispensaries, 25 Unani centres, and 117 homoeopathy clinics.
The city also boasts three medical colleges and four hospitals dedicated to Ayurvedic medicine.
CM Gupta emphasised the need to make Ayurveda and other traditional medicinal systems more accessible.
“Millions across the world are turning to Ayurveda for preventive and holistic care. It is our duty to provide access, drive innovation, and support start-ups shaping the future of this ancient science,” she said.
This bold step by the Delhi Government is expected to attract investment, foster entrepreneurship, and position India as a global wellness leader through the upcoming Global Ayurveda Summit.
