Mumbai: In a significant step towards revolutionizing emergency healthcare infrastructure, SUMEET SSG BVG Maharashtra EMS Pvt Ltd has inked a 10-year concessionaire agreement with the Public Health Department, Government of Maharashtra to implement the new Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) 108 Ambulance Service Program.
Backed by a substantial investment of nearly ₹1,600 crore, the MEMS 108 Ambulance Service program is set to roll out in five strategic phases beginning November 2025, aiming to provide faster, more efficient, and technologically advanced emergency response across the state.
Under the agreement, a fleet of 1,756 state-of-the-art ambulances will be deployed, equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), RFID, GPS, caller location tracking, CCTV, tablet PCs, TRIAGE systems, and more. These vehicles will also integrate critical digital systems like Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Vehicle Tracking and Management (VTMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and real-time patient arrival notifications.
The MEMS 108 Ambulance Service Program will include:
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances
- Neonatal care units
- First responder bikes
- Boat ambulances for sea and river transport
- Future-ready features like medical drones and helicopter-based EMS
This pioneering EMS model by SUMEET SSG aims to set a new national benchmark in public-private partnerships (PPP) for critical care delivery, combining high-end technology with operational excellence to improve patient outcomes during emergency situations.
