Pune: In a rare and complex pediatric case, doctors at Manipal Hospital Kharadi successfully removed large ureteric and urethral stones from a 7-year-old boy using advanced laser-based minimally invasive surgery, marking a milestone in pediatric urology.
The child had been battling recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), painful urination, and unexplained abdominal discomfort for over a year.

This state-of-the-art procedure involves no external incision and uses laser energy to precisely disintegrate the stones, significantly reducing recovery time and surgical risks.

The child was discharged the very next day, pain-free and on the path to full recovery.
