Pune: Dr D Y Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, has inaugurated the EndoPlay Skill Lab – the world’s first Hybrid Endoscopic-Microscopic ENT Skill Lab.
This innovative facility features the US-patented EndoHold system, enabling advanced two-handed endoscopic surgeries and redefining hands-on learning in otorhinolaryngology.
The launch event also marked the successful conclusion of India’s first Hybrid Temporal Bone Dissection Workshop, which provided immersive training to 20 ENT surgeons and postgraduate students from across the nation.

Spearheaded by the forward-thinking leadership of Dr P D Patil (Chancellor), Dr Bhagyashree Patil (Pro-Chancellor), and Dr Yashraj Patil (Trustee & Treasurer) of Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, this facility bridges traditional surgical techniques with modern, minimally invasive innovations.
At the heart of the EndoPlay Skill Lab is the EndoHold system, developed by Dr Mubarak Muhamed Khan, Dr Sapna Parab, and Dr Shirin Khan.
This globally patented technology allows surgeons to operate with both hands under endoscopic vision, enhancing precision and control. The lab also includes over 15 additional innovations from Dr Khan’s Creations, offering unmatched cadaveric training experiences in otologic and neuro-otologic surgeries.
The inaugural event was graced by Dr Yashraj Patil, along with Dr Rekha Arcot (Dean), and led by Prof and HOD Dr Mayur Ingale. Distinguished national faculty including Prof Shashikant Mhashal, Prof Vinod Shinde, Dr Kinnari Rathod, and Dr Rizwan Memon also contributed to the success of the first training session.

EndoPlay Skill Lab to Serve as Dissection Hub for SEOCON 2025
The EndoPlay Skill Lab will now function as the official cadaveric dissection hub for SEOCON 2025, a premier international ENT conference scheduled from September 11–14, 2025, at Dr D Y Patil Medical College. This event will attract global experts and participants, positioning Pune at the epicenter of advanced ENT education.
